The time has come for my verdict. After three weeks with the Google Pixel 3 and without my iPhone XS, I can finally tell you that I’m unswitchable. Let’s rewind a little bit to see what this is all about. Back in November, Google rolled out an ad called Unswitchable, basically claiming that iPhone users need just three weeks with a Pixel 3 to give up on their device and make the switch to Android. So I decided to. I put my iPhone XS to airplane mode and started using a Google Pixel 3 full time, just to see how committed I can become to the Android ecosystem after only three weeks.
Many Pixel devices are unable to connect to the internet because it gets stuck in obtaining IP address loop while trying to connect to home or office WiFi network. How to Fix Obtaining IP Address in Wi-Fi settings for Google Pixel device: First turn on Wi-Fi on your Android device.
Android wasn’t a new world for me, as I also carry a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 with me as my second phone, but for this experience, I relied exclusively on the Google Pixel 3 Remember to like our and our twitter for a chance to win a free iPad Pro every month! Quick Links:.
There are many problems with Google’s Pixel caused by the Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS, as users have complained about early shutdowns, camera bugs and delayed notifications. But there’s another problem that can be added to the list and this time, it has to do with Google’s Android File Transfer software that’s outdated and it prevents users from transferring files from the Pixel to a Mac.
Users who have a Pixel and a Mac and they’ve installed Android File Transfer are unable to transfer files because the software is very old, as it was updated to version 1.0 back in 2012. According to 9to5Google, who performed some trial-and-error testing, the problem is caused by a lack of proper USB Type-C support, since this USB specification was introduced a year later, in 2012.
However, there’s no need to lose hope, because there’s an alternative file transfer app, Handshaker, that works without any problems and it’s compatible with the Pixel phone and its cable. If Google won’t update Android File Transfer soon, then Pixel owners will have no other option but to use Handshaker, as it doesn’t have the same compatibility issues.
Battery life problems are also giving users headaches, and specialists advise them to turn screen brightness down to 40 percent, to close applications that they no longer need and to customize location settings. Recently, it was reported that Facebook and FB messenger were causing drains, but the problem has been solved in the meantime. It’s recommendable to update these applications in order to avoid similar problems with the battery life.
